Joe Sugiyama

Joe joined Arctaris in 2024 and serves as Principal of Real Estate and Portfolio Management He is responsible for evaluating development and acquisition opportunities, managing the firm’s
real estate portfolio, and overseeing active construction. Additionally, Joe ensures constructability, manages contracts and design, and conducts site due diligence. Joe has over 12 years of professional experience in real estate development in the United States and Europe, with a focus on multifamily and student housing projects.

Prior to joining Arctaris, Joe was the Executive Vice President of Development at CA Ventures, where he oversaw all facets of development operations, from pipeline management to construction and turnover. During his tenure at CA Ventures, Joe managed nearly $3 billion in real estate developments globally. He also enriched his expertise during a two-year stint at the firm’s London office, focusing on student accommodations and development processes abroad.

Joe holds a BSE in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan.
